Leo's Fortune reminds me a lot of Badland, but I'd say it can stand toe-to-toe (make that head-to-head) with any platformer currently available for iOS. At various times you'll tilt levers, press buttons, avoid spinning spikes, use gravity to your advantage, and so on. There are 24 levels in the game, each packed with challenging physics-based puzzles. (You can also slide your right thumb down to bounce or dive.) All in all, Leos Fortune is a very pretty. Leos Fortune earns bonus points from bucking the trend of offering in-app purchases for shortcuts, and supporting cloud saves, so you can continue on both iPhone and iPad seamlessly. Inflated Leo's eyes bug out comically, and he's able to jump and/or float as needed. The orchestral soundtrack follows closely in step with the otherworldly theme, inspiring a slight Disney vibe. The game oozes charm, and the visuals and art direction are so perfectly done that it would be a shame for any gamer. Even if you don't really enjoy platformers, it's still probably worth it. If you enjoy platformers, it's definitely worth the low price of admission. Movement consists of simple left-right sliding (controlled by sliding your left thumb back and forth) and "inflating," which happens when you slide your right thumb up. The music is so good in fact that you have to ask someone who the artist is so that you can find it on Spotify when you get home. It's pretty standard fare, plot-wise, but Leo's Fortune is one of the most dazzling platform games I've seen, with graphics that rival recent-gen consoles. Life isn't easy for a furry, disembodied head. Your goal: reclaim your stolen treasure, one gold coin at a time. Titular hero Leo looks like Sesame Street's Grover, but with a bushy mustache and no body. a sound of ten with a soundtrack and various effects and, what to say, the levels so well recreated. How do you like your platform games? Slow and methodical? Fast and furious? Leo's Fortune (iOS, $4.99) falls somewhere in between, combining the exploration and puzzle-solving aspects of games like Limbo with the slip-sliding coin-collecting requirements of a Sonic 4. Oddmar, a platformer and successor to Leos Fortune. Leo's Fortune delivers some stunning visuals.
